Five Views from an Island
Notes on the piece:
I view the five sections of this piece as five variations on a formal plan. In this sense, I imagine each section as a single landscape, painted by five different artists. There are characteristic landmarks in each section that are interpreted and presented through very different artistic guises. The piece was originally composed as part of the 2007 Boston University Collaborative Piano Project.
